Tania Jeannette Llamas Franco

Forestry Engineer

Tania is a Forestry Engineer working on the Project as a GIS specialist. She is a specialist in Geographic Information Systems, Google Earth Engine, and Remote Sensing applied to the monitoring of terrestrial
resources. She has participated in courses, workshops, and specialized training on Google Earth Engine and programming languages at Google’s World Headquarters (Mountain View, CA, USA). She is an active member of the International GeoAquaWatch Initiative of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO). In the academic field, she has published scientific documents related to energy transition and climate change, land use change, forest degradation and natural resources management in Paraguay, Argentina, Mexico,
and the United States. She has made dissertations on Remote Sensing applied to forest monitoring (California, USA), Climate Change and Vulnerable Communities (Vienna, Austria) and Water Resources
Management (Geneva, Switzerland). She is supporting the forest monitoring with geospatial tools and data for the Project. Tania graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the National University of Asunción (FCA-UNA), San Lorenzo, Republic of Paraguay. She holds postgraduate degrees on natural resources management in the context of climate change at the Latin American
Faculty of Social Sciences (FACSO, Paraguay), Safety and Health at Work by the Ibero-American Organization of Social Security (OISS – Spain, online program) and is a specialist in Education from the
Iberoamerica University of Paraguay (UNIBE).
